We have just returned from Sunset Beach where we joined with my dad's sister's family for a week of relaxing on the beach. Lily and Mary were in heaven. This beach was perfect for small children. When the tide would change, it would leave tide pools for the kids to play in that kept them entertained all day. Mary Particularly loved the tide pools and would frequently take off down the beach following the shallow water. We would let her wander, while we followed, just to see how far she would get. At times, she would be about a quarter of a mile down the beach before she would even turn around! Quite the independent one! Lily made an instant new friend, Kyndall, the daughter of my cousin, Jeff. She is 5 and they got along famously, playing all day in the surf and sand without tiring. Lily also learned how to boogie board and may turn pro any day now. She loved it! Here are just a few of the pics we took. More to follow once I collect them from everyone's cameras! We've got some great ones of Lily on the boogie board and Mary riding it in the tide pool!
The girls loved the bed in the hotel room when we stopped to spend the night in Jacksonville on the way up. (Oh yeah, we had our first family road trip.)Mary and Aunt Liz go for a swim.Lily enjoying a sand treatment with some of the cousins.Where did my kids learn how to smile???? :-)Mary taking her stroll down the beach.
