Lily loves to go to Cityplace because she knows she can usually talk us into getting ice cream at Sloan's. She got the cotton candy blue ice cream today. I think's it's officially her favorite... :-)
After a rigorous day of bike riding, the girls passed out. It's hard work, you know, sitting in a cushioned buggy and being pedaled all over town... :-) We are regulars over at Alphabet Soup because we love visiting Kathleen and the girls love all the great things they have there. Mary had fun today pushing this tandum double stroller all over the store and halfway down the sidewalk. We had to pry her grips from the handlebars to get her to leave. Now if you're thinking, "awe, poor thing... they should get her a stroller to push around...," we've already got the single version of the stroller at home and it's getting a lot of mileage. However, that does not stop Lily from asking for the double EVERY time we go there, or Mary from acting like she NEVER gets to do this fun stuff at home. I just think the double is more than we need... :-) Lily is a collector (a pack rat, if you will) of all things big and small, and loved it when Caroline brought home a bag of rocks for her from her trip to the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. Who knew a bag of rocks could provide so much entertainment? She loves to take them out of her pouch, line them up, count them, sort them, and then put them back in the pouch and start the whole process over again. Quite funny to watch. :) Mary likes to walk underneath this thing and eat her food when we are at my Dad's. I don't know why, but whenever I hand her something to eat like a sadwich or a cracker, she heads over to her spot to eat it. Mildly amusing... Beeing beaten up by a younger sibling is kind of like a man being beaten up by a woman. No one wants to admit it, but it does happen... (this is a joke and is in no way meant to be interpreted as tolerance of abuse in any way!) These images below are proof that the underdog can take the upper hand once in a while! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... Lily loves to play with her Dora Castle and does not mind using other figurines to fill up the house. The one problem is that Mary likes to come along and crash the party. In the pics, she looks harmless, but don't be fooled. Mary is waiting for the right time to strike and ruin the neat house! Note: See if you can name all the different figurines in the house that are not at all related to Dora! I'll post a list for you. :-) Lily and Mary have a new toy. We tried out the bike trailer yesterday and the ride was a big success. Mary loved looking at all the birds and the dogs as we passed them. Lily liked that she didn't have to sit on a bike and pedal! Grammy Nancy took Lily to this wonderful event where Lily had a blast and talked about it for days. She got her face painted as "spiderwoman". What a great afternoon she had. :-) I knew it was only a matter of time... Lily would try her hand at hairdressing. On herself, or some other being with hair. :-) Luckily, she only did it to herself, and the damage was not anything that couldn't be fixed. And the fixed version is really cute. :-) Hey, it's hair. It grows!!!! |
